BATAVIA, N.Y (WIVB) - A Batavia woman is charged with attacking an elderly greeter who asked to see her receipt at a Wal-Mart on Christmas Eve.
Investigators say 26-year old Jacquetta Simmons was at the Ellsworth Avenue store Saturday morning when 70-year old Grace Suozzi asked her to show her receipt.
Simmons allegedly punched Suozzi, knocking her down, and ran out of the store. She was stopped by shoppers and workers and detained until police arrived. State Police say the greeter suffered fractures to the side of her face.
Simmons is charged with two counts of assault and is free on 40-thousand dollars bond. She's due back in court January 23rd.
