Prison guard avoids jail over steroids

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A former guard at the Buffalo Federal Detention Facility in Batavia will not spend any time in jail for distributing steroids.

Michael Trautmann, 49, of Cheektowaga, was one of three men authorities say were passing around anabolic steroids while working at the jail. Trautmann was sentenced by a federal judge to probation. The judge could have chosen to send Trautmann to jail for 10 years.
