Raid uncovers assault rifle, marijuana

CUBA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Town of Cuba Police along with several other agencies arrested two people they say were growing marijuana in their home on Rt. 305 South.

George Brown, 30, and Sybil Davis, 23, were arrested on Wednesday. A search warrant executed at their home uncovered 61 marijuana plants and packaged marijuana, all valued at $74,000, along with cash, an SKS assault rifle, 50-round drum magazines, a large amount of ammunition, indoor growing equipment and a surveillance system.

Brown and Davis were both charged with second degree criminal possession of marijuana, unlawfully growing cannabis, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Brown was additionally charged with two counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Both were arraigned and taken to the Allegany County Jail. Brown is being held on $15,000 bail and Davis is being held on $10,000 bail.
