ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A 40-year-old Rochester man has admitted to hanging one of his dogs and intending to use his car to drag another to death before his mother slashed the tires.
The Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester reports that that Kelvin Presha pleaded guilty Friday to aggravated animal cruelty and attempted aggravated cruelty to an animal.
He admitted killing one of his three dogs by hanging it after getting into an argument with his mother. Presha was going to tie a second dog to his car and drag the dog to death, but his mother slashed the vehicle's tires before he could kill the animal.
Presha, who has a substance abuse problem, was ordered to enter a treatment program. If he fails in treatment, he faces a year in jail.
