KENMORE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Rochester man was arrested on Thursday and charged with robbing a First Niagara Bank in Kenmore over the summer.
The U.S. Attorney's Office reports 57-year-old Robert Stevenson has been charged with bank robbery. Prosecutors say he walked into the bank branch on June 11, handed the teller a note demanding "$100.00's and $50.00's" and then tapped his waistband to infer he had a weapon. The teller handed over $3,600 and the suspect fled.
If Stevenson is convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.
