KENDALL, N.Y. (WIVB) - A vandal has desecrated more than 30 gravestones in a rural cemetery in Orleans County.
The sheriff's office says in the Town of Kendall, there have been multiple incidents of damage in the Beechwood Cemetery off Woodchuck Alley. The first incident happened on October 12, when someone damaged what was once a chapel.
On October 14, deputies responded after 32 gravestones had been toppled, and some were broken into pieces. Many of the markers date back to the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Anyone who has any information on these crimes is asked to call 585-589-5527.
