BELMONT, N.Y. (WIVB) - A registered sex offender from the southern tier was taken into custody in Pennsylvania for failing to verify his change of address within 10 days.
Douglas Hanson, 45, is charged with failing to tell law enforcement about his move from 7 Whitney Place in the Village of Belmont within the time allotted by law. Authorities determined Hanson was working for a trucking company out of Tennessee and investigators caught up to him in PA. Hanson waived extradition and was brought back to the Allegany County Sheriff's Office.
After being arraigned Thursday, Hanson was locked up in the Allegany County Jail on $10,000 bail.
