BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - While many people celebrated New Year’s Eve, Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies were on the roadways, and made four arrests.
A deputy responded to an accident on Stony Point Road, on Grand Island, around 6 p.m. Monday. The Sheriff’s Office says driver 60-year-old William Ross, of Akron, was drunk. Ross refused a breath test, and because of a prior DWI, he was arrested for felony DWI. Ross was released to ECMC, for treatment of his injuries in the accident.
Just after 7 p.m, a deputy stopped to check on a vehicle that was on the side of Route 219, in the Town of Boston. The deputy allegedly found the driver, 50-year-old Kevin Prusak, drunk inside. The Kenmore resident was charged with DWI, and is due in Boston court at a later date.
The Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a scene where a truck struck a guardrail in North Collins, around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday. The deputy at the scene on Sherman Avenue said driver 54-year-old Peter Walter, of Angola, was intoxicated. Walter allegedly had a .12 percent BAC, and was arrested for DWI. He is due in North Collins Court at a later date.
An hour later, deputies in Grand Island arrested a driver who allegedly had twice the legal blood alcohol content. Deputies say they were investigating a domestic disturbance, when the 37-year-old Jason Kinthiseng returned to the scene, after fleeing earlier. Deputies say the man was intoxicated, and he was arrested for DWI. A breath test revealed a .16 percent BAC. He is due in Town of Grand Island Court at a future date.
