AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police say they caught a thief when they stopped a man for failing to signal a lane change.
Amherst Police pulled over 46-year-old Michael Codelia, Sr. of Berwick Lane on Friday when he didn't use a signal. Officers say they found Codelia's license is suspended and what's more, inside his vehicle were stolen tools and other property.
Two victims had reported the items stolen in the past two months, but the incidents occurred several weeks apart. Both victims told police the items were taken from their box utility trailers.
Codelia was released on $500 bail and will return to court in February.
