AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - A social worker in western New York has been indicted on charges she defrauded Blue Cross Blue Shield out of $125,000.
Nina Jafari, 62, of Amherst is facing five counts of health care fraud. The U.S. Attorney's Office says Jafari would submit reimbursement claims to the insurance company for services that were not rendered.
If convicted, Jafari could face 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.
