WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) - When a suspect exited the bathroom of a convenience store with his pockets and backpack filled with cans of beer, a West Seneca Police officer was waiting to greet him.
On Friday, authorities say 18-year-old Theodore Dionne of West Seneca took an 18-pack of beer into the bathroom with him at the Sunoco A Plus on Union Road. Coincidentally, Officer Donald Hanley stopped at the store while Dionne was in the bathroom and an employee informed Officer Hanley of the situation.
Police say when Dionne exited the bathroom, Officer Hanley was waiting. Dionne had allegedly filled his pockets and backpack with the cans of beer.
Dionne was arrested and charged with petit larceny. And after reviewing surveillance video of a theft a few days earlier, Dionne was charged with a second count of petit larceny.
Dionne is due back in West Seneca Court later this month.
