BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - After a two-year search, the suspected ringleader of the biggest heroin ring in Buffalo history is in custody. Thirty-three-year-old Eury Rodriguez will be hauled into court Tuesday.
The 33-year-old man was on the top of pyramid of suspects back in March of 2011, when the State Attorney General came to Buffalo an announce that the largest heroin ring in Buffalo history had been broken up.
Rodriguez was called the kingpin who would regularly supply heroin from the Bronx to a home in Buffalo's west side. Police at that time had seized $3.5 million worth of heroin, and now the man who they believe supplied it is behind bars.
New York State Police Lieutenant Martin McKee said, “It was only through extensive surveillance, interviews of his family members, interviews of his neighbors that we were ultimately able to locate him."
