PERRY, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office says a black SUV reportedly struck a man in the Town of Perry Saturday, stopped for a moment and then left the scene.
Thirty-three-year-old Michael Beck Jr., who suffered minor arm and back injuries, told police the SUV struck him while he was walking on Route 246, after his vehicle ran out of gas. Beck told police the vehicle turned around and a female passenger asked him if they could drive him to the hospital. Beck says the male driver said they had no room, and when Beck asked for their license plate number the car took off.
Police say they found pieces of a side view mirror from the vehicle in the roadway, consistent with Beck’s claims of the mirror breaking off.
Beck says the people inside the vehicle were a white man and a white woman, both in their mid forties.
