BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A teenager who was charged in the brutal beating of an elderly Buffalo man, is expected in court Tuesday. A 96-year-old man was attacked in his own home. The suspect in the shocking crime is a high school basketball star.
Friendship Baptist Church Deacon Darrell Saxon said, “No one deserves to be attacked in their own home. I don’t care how old or how young they are.”
Levi Clayton was brutally attacked inside his Longview Avenue home back in November. Eighteen-year-old Justice Feggans, a Riverside High School student and basketball player, is charged with playing a part in the crime.
He is expected in court Tuesday afternoon for a felony hearing. Feggans is facing burglary and robbery charges, and is being held on $250,000 bail.
Buffalo Common Council Member Darius Pridgen said, "We might have just saved a young person's life, by someone giving proper information, accurate information, because it is possible that worse things could have happened."
Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda says Feggens is no stranger to the law, he has a prior arrest record but has not been convicted.
As for the elderly man attacked, Levi Clayton is still recovering from his injuries Tuesday morning.
