BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police on patrol arrested three people New Year's Day for driving while intoxicated.
At 9:30 a.m., troopers saw a vehicle hit a guardrail on Route 219 in the Town of Ashford. Police say the driver, 18-year-old Mitchell Gefaller of Orchard Park, was intoxicated and had a .09 percent BAC. Gefaller was arrested and charged with DWI.
On Route 33 at 11 a.m., troopers pulled over 34-year-old Anthony Watson of Buffalo, who they say was going 94 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Watson has 24 active suspensions on his license and troopers say because of a 2007 DWI conviction, they charged Watson with felony DWI and first degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Watson was taken to the Erie County Holding Center, where he is also being held for two bench warrants, one from the Erie County Sheriff's office for vehicle and traffic charges and the other from Buffalo Police for fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property.
In Clarence, troopers pulled over 43-year-old Mark Haen of Williamsville on Shimerville Road. Police say he had a BAC of .12 percent and was charged with DWI.
