BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - An east side Buffalo man faces trial October 9th for the beating death of his step-son Abdi Mohamud.

Mohamed Mohamud is charged with second degree murder. Prosecutors say he beat his 13-year-old stepson 70 times with a rolling pin after tying the boy's hands with electrical cord and stuffing duct tape into the boy's mouth.

The young victim was found dead in the basement of his family's home in April.
