Trooper convicted of DWAI keeping job

CONCORD, N.Y. (WIVB) - A local NY State Trooper will not go to jail or lose her job after a DWI crash last June.

Heidi Wysocki, a trooper out of the Boston Barracks, was charged last June with DWI. The 48-year-old refused a breathalyzer after her car went off the road and damaged three signs along Boston State Road.

On Tuesday, she was found guilty of the lesser charge of Driving While Ability Impaired (for refusing the breathalyzer). Concord Town Justice Leslie Gibbin sentenced her to 40 hours of community service, and a $500 fine. She could have received up to 15 days in jail.

It was indicated in court that State Police will let her keep her job. She needs a little more than a year to reach the 20-year mark to secure her pension.
