COLLINS, N.Y. (WIVB) - A hungry state trooper went to pick up his pizza and ended up picking up an alleged drunk driver, too.
A trooper at the State Police barracks in Collins went to a pizza shop on Monday and noticed a car in the middle of Collins Road near the intersection of Route 62 with its turn signal on. The trooper went inside to get his pizza, and when he got back out, the car was still there.
The trooper went to speak to the driver and found 54-year-old Cheryl Lamoreaux of Hamburg behind the wheel. He reports he could smell the alcohol on her and says she couldn't answer simple question.
The trooper took his pizza and Lamoreaux back to the barracks. Lamoreaux's BAC was reportedly .20 percent and she was charged with aggravated DWI.
