CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Troopers quickly caught up to four people who they say stole a Nook e-reader from the Best Buy on Transit Road in Clarence.
Police were called to the story on October 1st when security personnel say the four made off with the electronic device. According to police, around 5:45 p.m. the four entered the store. The three women in the group took two Nooks from the shelf, returned one, and then went to the bathroom with the other. All four suspects exited the store quickly after that.
Amherst Police and troopers stopped the suspects vehicle on Transit Road in the Town of Amherst. Inside their car, officers say they found the stolen Nook as well as other tagged items that the suspects could not provide receipts for and police say were likely stolen from other nearby stores.
All four were arrested and charged with petit larceny. They are: a 16-year-old male, 20-year-old Ashley Drexinger, 24-year-old Brittney Ridgeway, and 26-year-old Ciarra Kelly, all of Buffalo.
