Two arrests after drug investigation

ALBION, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two Albion residents are facing charges Wednesday, after a three-month long investigation into the sale and distribution of marijuana and prescription narcotic pills.

The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force says multiple agencies executed a search warrant on Albion Eagle Harbor Road. They say $4,800 worth of high-grade marijuana, oxycodone, hydrocodone, $2,5000 worth of diazepam pills, scales, packaging, three long guns and over $3,000 in cash were found in the home.

Authorities arrested 49-year-old Randy Wyant Sr. and 49-year-old Janis Fitzwater.

Wyant Sr. was charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, six counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, five counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of third-degree criminal possession of marijuana and four counts of fourth-degree criminal diversion of prescription medication and prescriptions.

Fitzwater was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, five counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of third-degree criminal possession of marijuana and three counts of fourth-degree criminal diversion of prescription medications and prescriptions.

Both Wyant Sr. and Fitzwater were arraigned in court. Wyant was committed to the Orleans County Jail on $50,000 cash or bond. Fitzwater was committed to the Orleans County Jail on $25,000 cash or bond. Both are expected back in court on October 19th.
