Weapon found in school, student charged

WELLSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A middle school student on the southern tier is facing charges after bringing a weapon to school.
Police were called to the Wellsville Middle School around 10:30 a.m. on Monday on reports of a student with a weapon. The 12-year-old brought an air soft gun to school and police say at no time was it displayed or used to threaten other students.
The student has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under the age of 16. The student will have to appear at the Allegany County Probation Department at a later date.
