RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Niagara County woman has admitted driving marijuana over the border from Canada into the U.S.
Federal authorities say Bonnie Gordon, 33, of Ransomville was part of a group who smuggled and transported marijuana into the U.S., often by hiding it inside the spare tire of a car. The marijuana would then be distributed and sold to others in Niagara County.
Gordon admitted the conspiracy began someone in 2002 and operated for more than seven years. She was arrested in December 2011 along with five others and is the first to be convicted of conspiring to possess and distribute over 100 kilograms of marijuana.
Gordon will be sentenced in July.
