WETHERSFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) - New York State Police say a woman allegedly moved from Wethersfield to Cheektowaga, and left 11 cats behind. Police say 49-year-old Theresa M. Miller left the cats without proper food or water, and didn’t make any long-term care arrangements for the cats, after moving on November 4th.
Troopers say they located Miller at a Cheektowaga address and took her into custody. She was arrested for the Agriculture and Markets Law Violations of Neglect of an Impounded Animal and Abandonment of a Disabled Animal.
Miller was taken to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $500 bail. State Police say the Wethersfield property owner and the Wyoming County dog control officer are providing care for the cats until they can be safely relocated.
