Woman drives intoxicated with kids

ALBION, N.Y (WIVB) - Kizzie Ford, 29, from Rochester was arrested by the Albion Police Department on September 13th.

Ford was arrested after her vehicle was stopped for nearly striking a marked Albion Police Patrol Car.

While Ford was operating her vehicle, she had her two children just four years old in the rear seat, not restrained in car seats.

The children were turned over to a relative at the time of her arrest; Child Protective Services was notified and are investigating the case.

Based on the Officers observations, she was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The driver refused to take a chemical test to determine her blood alcohol content. She was arraigned in the Town of Albion Court where bail was set at $1,000.

Ford is charged with the following offenses:

- Driving While Intoxicated (with previous conviction within past 10 years, D- Felony)

- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle-1st degree (E-Felony)

- Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (E-Felony, 2 Counts, Leandra's Law)

- Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A-Misdemeanor, 2 Counts)

- No/Improper Child Restraint Devices (Traffic Infraction, 2 Counts)

- Improper right turn (Traffic Infraction)

Ford was placed in the Orleans County Jail and is set to re-appear in court on September 25, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
