CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Cheektowaga woman who stole a small fortune from an elderly patient is headed to jail. Friday morning, a judge sentenced Charmesa Brown to one and one third to four years behind bars.
Brown pleaded guilty to stealing more than $110,000 while working as an administrator at Bassett Manor in Williamsville. She would help the victim write checks to the facility, but would also write checks payable to herself.
Bassett Manor has helped cover the money lost for the elderly victim. Brown has already paid back most of the money.
