AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police say a woman woke up to a burglar rifling through items in her dresser.
Amherst Police say Wednesday at 2:30 a.m. on Brookedge Drive, the woman awoke to find an unknown man in her bedroom. She gave a shout and the burglar took off on foot. Only a small amount of money was taken and police said it didn't appear the man had forced his way into the home.
The suspect is described as a young black man around 5'10" tall. He was wearing dark clothing and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone who saw something suspicious should contact Amherst detectives at 689-1360.
