NIAGARA FALLS, ONT. (WIVB) - Authorities in Niagara Falls, Ontario say the torso of a woman found floating in the lower Niagara River is part of a homicide case.
Citizens spotted the body floating around 2 p.m. on Wednesday and alerted authorities, who recovered it near the Rainbow Bridge. The torso was absent of limbs and a head. An autopsy confirmed the woman was murdered.
Police say that the woman in this case is unrelated to the murder of a woman in Scarborough. In that case, the victim was cut up into pieces.
The woman in this case is middle-aged and white with a pierced navel and at least one Caesarean section and a tubal ligation procedure.
