Yoga teachers may not need licenses

ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) - Life could soon get a little easier for yoga teachers in New York.

A bill is now on Governor Paterson's desk that would exempt instructors from having to get licensed. The legislation was introduced last year when the Education Department proposed requiring licensing for yoga teachers and threatening studios with fines of up to $50,000. Paterson's office is reviewing the bill.
