3407 families say FAA missed deadline

CLARENCE CENTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - The families of Flight 3407 say the federal government is dragging its feet on making the skies safer.

The families say the FAA and the DOT missed Wednesday's deadline on issuing new rules for pilot fatigue and schedule limits. Pilot error was cited as a main cause of the 2009 crash that killed 50-people in Clarence Center. The victims' families have been fighting for tougher regulations since the tragedy.

President Obama signed new aviation safety measures into law, but the FAA has yet to fully implement the reforms.
