HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) - Law enforcers put on the hazmat suits in the southtowns on Tuesday. Police are breaking up a suspected meth lab in Hamburg.

Dozens of police spent most of the day at a home on Parker Road in Hamburg going through what is believed to be a meth lab, although authorities have not officially confirmed that.

Uniform and undercover State Police and detectives from the town of Hamburg converged on the scene. Officers wearing white hazmat suits were constantly coming and going at the house conducting what appear to be field tests of substances taken from inside. Firefighters have been on standby due to the highly flammable nature of the chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine.

Neighbors tell News 4 a couple with children live in the home, but authorities will only say they're conducting an investigation into possible criminal activity.
