BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - When will "Craigslist Congressman" Chris Lee come forward to air out his dirty laundry? Lee has yet to step into the public eye since he gave up his shirt and his career in Congress. The woman said to be at the center of the Craigslist scandal, also remains elusive.
She did speak briefly to a Washington Post reporter, but made it clear that she wants to go about her daily business. Apparently, she never expected the intense media interest, just felt that Lee's deception was out of bounds, and wanted to warn other women. In the meantime, the fallout continues for the former Congressman.
Her name is Yesha Callahan, the formerly anonymous single mother whose Craigslist ad inspired then Congressman Chris Lee to tell her he was a divorced lobbyist, and send her a topless muscle photo of himself.

Lee said, "The train has left the station, and we're going to DC!"
Lee was ready to take on DC back in 2008. The photo revelation led to his resignation in record time. Callahan told the Washington Post that, "I didn't do this for the attention, or you know, the notoriety."
The fallout has since made its way to late night TV, and inspired one local website to list the "Top 8 photos of shirtless Buffalonians." Callahan is a faculty specialist at the University of Maryland. She was initially referred to as "anonymous" when she told TheLoop21.com that she thought the picture was a "fake because it looked like a JC Penny's ad."
Her conclusion was that "he's probably met more women online." She continued, "The lesson is: If you're going to do dirt, do it anonymously."
House Speaker John Boehner said, "I think he made the right decision for him and his family."
We've since learned that accusations of inappropriate behavior involving women have trailed him since he first ran for Congress. Boehner once warned him about his actions. Sources close to his former opponent, Alice Kryzan, reportedly had first-hand knowledge of Lee cheating or attempting to cheat on his wife. Those allegations were never brought up in the race. Nick Langworthy ran his campaign and is now the Erie County GOP Chair.
"He's made some foolish decisions, living with the consequences. And it's between he and his family to determine how they go forward," said Langworthy.
No concrete evidence has surfaced. But in the wake of widespread news coverage, some say the allegations fit a pattern that stretches back a few years.
Political operatives from both sides don't expect the former Congressman to come out of hiding anytime soon. They say he's a private person, now a private citizen, who is likely at his father's home in Florida. There is also still no word on when a special election will be held. We should know, in the next week or two, who the front runners will be.
