Four DWI arrests after Bills opener

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (RELEASE) - Following a traffic stop for speeding on Transit Road in the Town of Elma, Troopers arrested Adam Wagner, 25 years of age of Amherst, for Driving While Intoxicated. After failing roadside sobriety tests Wagner was taken into custody and at SP Clarence submitted to a breath test resulting in a BAC of .16%. Wagner was later released and will appear in the Elma Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

Troopers responded to a two vehicle accident on Transit Road in Elma. A vehicle operated by Elayna Halleck, 21 years of age of Depew, was north on Transit Road when she rear ended a second vehicle operated by Meghan Brown, 32 years of age of Buffalo. Further investigation and failure of roadside sobriety tests led to the arrest of Halleck for Driving While Intoxicated and Following Too Closely. There were no injuries sustained by either operator. Halleck was processed at the Elma State Police Office and a breath test resulted in a BAC of .14%. She was later released and will appear in the Elma Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

State Police stopped a vehicle on Route 400 in the Town of West Seneca for speeding. Interview of the operator and failure of subsequent roadside sobriety tests led to the arrest of Marissa Kijowski, 21 years of age of North Tonawanda, for Driving While Intoxicated. Kijowski was processed at the State Police Buffalo Thruway station and submitted to a breath test resulting in a BAC of .12%. She was later released and will appear to answer the charges in the West Seneca Town Court at a later date.

Troopers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on Transit Road in the Town of Elma. Further investigation and failure of the subsequent roadside sobriety tests led to the arrest of Robert Blair, 29 years of age of Salamanca, for Driving While Intoxicated. Blair was processed at the Elma State Police Office and a breath test resulted in a BAC of .10%. He was later released and will appear to answer the charges in the Elma Town Court at a later date.

Troopers on patrol issued a total of 75 traffic tickets following the game on September 12th on area highways. In addition to the above 4 arrests for Driving While Intoxicated; State Police issued 12 tickets for failure to wear seat belts, 1 for no child restraint, 17 for speeding violations and 42 for other equipment and moving violations. Troopers will continue to actively enforce the traffic laws on area roads both before and after the stadium events in an effort to increase highway safety.
