BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Erie County officials are launching a month-long campaign against underage drinking.
The "Party With Kids - Pay The Price" campaign is part of alcohol awareness month. Local authorities are vowing to fully prosecute drunken drivers, underage drinkers, and adults who hold parties for underage drinkers. Teachers and substance abuse professionals will also educate young people about the dangers of underage drinking.
Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard said, "The underage use of alcohol kills more people than all illegal drugs do combined. Of course, we all believe that one person dying from alcohol abuse is one too many."
The campaign will also include new posters, billboards and print ads that will appear all over Erie County.
