Driver identified in roundabout fatal

HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) - Kenneth D. Braun, 54, of South Park Avenue died a horrific death around 1:30 a.m. on Friday.

Police say Braun crashed his pick-up truck into the South Park, Big Tree traffic circle's huge boulders, went airborne and flipped over. The vehicle burst into flames and officials say the man died on the scene.

Police say a witness thought Braun was speeding shortly before the crash. It's still unclear if the victim was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

Police say Braun had quite a bit of trauma to his body so they were able to identify him through dental records. He was the only person involved in the crash.

The accident investigation team is currently working to find out more details. On a side note, the traffic circle was just opened to traffic a week ago. Right now crews are still painting the lines but there are caution signs up before the circle.
