AMHERST, N.Y. (RELEASE) - The Amherst Police Department arrested a town resident, David Williams, age 30, for numerous charges in regards to a domestic situation.
Mr. Williams was charged with attempted assault second degree, an E Felony, and two counts of assault third degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. Officers John Fiore and Corey Brown arrested Mr. Williams in front of his home in regards to a domestic assault on two females.
Mr. Williams was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument. The arrest occurred at 3:14 a.m. Thursday morning.
Two assault rifles were confiscated from Mr. Williams, along with a machete and over 300 rounds of ammunition. Mr. Williams was arraigned before Judge Mark Farrell, who set $5,000 cash bail and $15,000 bail bond.
