ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police have made an arrest in the robbery of a Rite Aid Pharmacy in Alden.

20-year-old Brandon Walker of Lancaster is being arraigned in the village of Alden. Police have charged him with robbery.

It was around 4:15 Tuesday afternoon when police say the suspect walked into a this Rite Aid on Broadway. Authorities say he approached the pharmacy with a note and left with prescription pills. Sources tell News 4 the man got away with hundreds of Oxycontin pills.

Steven Graap of the New York State Police said, "Things like this have been happening. Prescription drugs are becoming a new panacea in our communities."

Ken Chmielewski said, "I'm shocked, actually. Again, you don't see this happening in our town."

Managers closed the Rite Aid for a few hours when this happened on Tuesday. No one was hurt and the suspect never displayed a weapon of any kind.
