TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A number of homemade exploding bottles were found in outside locations in the Town of Tonawanda, Thursday morning.

Town of Tonawanda Police responded to several calls of over-pressure devices.

According to Ken Ton Schools, five bottles were found at the Brighton Park Golf Course. Three devices were on the field at the district owned Green Acres building.

They do not appear to be left out to target anyone or anything specific, and did not result in damage or injuries.

News 4 spoke with some golfers at Brighton Golf Course.

Golfer Howard Meyers said, "I heard one of the maintenance people picked up a bottle of some kind and it exploded. I asked the question is anybody injured? They thought that he maybe had some minor injuries on his back or something. They had no idea what the explosive could have been, someone just fooling around thinking they're having a good time doing something that they shouldn't be doing."

Police say this is typically a prank situation. Police are investigating each incident and plan to follow up with criminal charges against those who are involved.
