Teens hospitalized after head-on crash

TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two teenagers are in the hospital following a head-on crash in Tonawanda, Tuesday morning.

It happened around 8 a.m. on Fletcher Street near Delaware.

City of Tonawanda police say a total of five teenagers, ages 13 to 17, were involved.

One of the passengers was trapped when crews arrived.

"The one car we had to do extrication. We had to take the roof off the car to access the one patient. The doors had to be popped off. There was quite a bit of structural damage to the automobile," said Joe Bacon, Assistant Chief of Tonawanda Fire Department.

Rescuers rushed one victim to ECMC with unknown injuries.

A second victim was taken to Degraff Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
