TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Around 11 a.m. western New Yorkers felt the shake of a fatal explosion at the DuPont plant.
An outside contractor died in the explosion.
News 4 spoke to a man who was near the scene of the explosion. "I was at my store just down the road. The entire building shook and I decided to pack up and go home, and see what was going on. I came here and saw all the emergency vehicles and found out their had been an explosion." The witness said, he had never felt anything like this before.
News 4 spoke to a man who was hunting off of Whitehaven Road. He told News 4 about how he could feel the ground shake, "Quite a bit. I knew it was some kind of explosion."
