BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Friday morning, volunteers here in western New York are preparing to help hurricane victims.

Three people from the American Red Cross serving Erie and Niagara Counties are now traveling to Irene's predicted target areas. They'll be lending a helping hand with emergency response efforts.

Hurricane Irene is also impacting a local Navy sailor, who is taking extraordinary measures to get home to Buffalo for his wedding. WIVB.com is bringing you complete Hurricane Irene coverage , including a hurricane tracker.
