WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Nationwide Insurance and radio station Kiss 98.5 are teaming up to drive home the dangers of texting while driving.
State Police put students at Williamsville North High School in the driver's seat of a simulator Thursday to show them the dangers first-hand. Another reminder greeted students outside: a mangled car that was involved in a deadly crash.
Nationwide Insurance agent Diane Ashby said, "The car was literally in a texting while driving accident, and you can see it's all mangled. And it's a visual for the kids to see what exactly happens when they're texting while driving."
Williamsville North was the final stop on a 16-school tour by Nationwide Insurance to raise awareness about the dangers of texting behind the wheel.
