LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - It's been almost a year since the suicide of Williamsville North teen Jamey Rodemeyer inspired a nationwide crusade against bullies.

Friday night, Buffalo based ND Studios released a new film in cooperation with "Be Brave, Don't Bully." The film, "Race to the Finish" premiered at the Dipson Theatres in Lancaster. It was written and directed by Greg Robbins and based on his own childhood experience.

"When I was 12-years-old I was walking home from school one day and a bunch of kids were beating up on a mentally handicapped boy on my block. I jumped in, tried to save him, got beat up myself. A few days later we were playing football in the street, I asked him to go out for a pass and he blew by everyone like they were standing still," Robbins said.

He says his film teaches that everyone has value, and deserves a chance to prove it.
