CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A veteran officer with more than 20 years of service in the Cheektowaga Police Department was involved in an accident that injured a 69-year-old woman Thursday afternoon.
Authorities say around 11:50 a.m. at Borden and French Roads, the on-duty patrol supervisor was turning left onto French and struck the woman as she crossed the street. The victim was taken to ECMC where she was treated for a broken leg. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The accident is under investigation. Police have not released the name of the officer involved in the crash or the elderly woman.
