CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Clarence Center community is wrapping its arms around Mark Armstrong. The Clarence High School junior is heading to the Super Bowl thanks to Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson.
Johnson named Armstrong, a quarterback for Clarence High School, the winner of his Twitter contest Tuesday. Johnson promised to give away two tickets to someone his Twitter followers said was most deserving. It turned out he received so many tweets from students at Clarence High School in support of Mark that he ended his contest a day early.
Johnson called Armstrong and gave him the good news over the phone. The unanticipated surprise came just three days after Mark's father, a well-respected coach in the Clarence community, died suddenly.
Mark told News 4 he is taking his brother with him to Indianapolis, where they will join Johnson for the big game on Sunday. Mark's mother says this is a dream come true. Mark has always loved the Colts, and will get to watch the Super Bowl in their new stadium. His brother, David, happens to be a lifelong Patriots fan.
