AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Western New Yorkers newest congressman was in town Saturday talking about the House Republican budget proposal.
Chris Collins spoke with seniors about how the budget would affect Medicare. He said the "Republican plans" would protect Medicare advantage, while seeking to balance the budget.
Additionally, he said people need to be proactive in politics."What we need is for the public, as they hear this debate, to step forward and make their phone calls and their emails and tell their elected officials which way they want to go. Do they want a path?" said Collins.
Congressman said the Republican budget proposal does not include any cuts to Medicare.
