Deer crashes through van's windshield

SARDINIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A woman was injured Thursday evening after hitting a deer with her van and having the animal fly through her windshield.
Erie County Sheriff's deputies say 44-year-old Edna Sprague hit the deer just before 6 p.m. on Genesee Road in the Town of Sardinia. The deer crashed through the windshield of her Dodge Caravan, struck Sprague, and landed in the back of the van. Her van continued forward, going off the roadway and side swiping a tree.
Sprague was flown by Mercy Flight to ECMC, where she is currently listed in stable condition.
