Fans viciously assaulted at Bills game

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - A group of three fans say at last Thursday's Buffalo Bills game against the Miami Dolphins claim that they were viciously beat up outside Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Security at the Ralph has been under the microscope since Friday, when we learned a fan from the Rochester area died after he was thrown out of the game.

Security was said to have quickly responded on Thursday. The woman who was with Tones and Gebauer was not hurt. The two men were taken to the emergency medical unit at the stadium but Tones' father, a former EMT volunteer in Castile, said they received minimal care, and were advised to go to the hospital.

"I think they should have been transported by an ambulance. Anybody with a head trauma needs to be taken care of," Frank said.

The men were taken to the hospital by a friend. More frustrating, the men say, is the fact that they can't get answers about who assaulted them.  Gebauer said, "Nobody seems to know anything. Nobody calls back. I just hope that they are looking into it."

The Erie County Sheriff's Chief of Patrol has been given the information on the alleged assaults and is trying to track down information. Gebauer tells News 4 Apex Security, who is in charge of security in Ralph Wilson Stadium, told him two people were taken into custody at the stadium and a third was taken into custody at Tailgaters, a bar near the stadium. However, Gebauer says when he reached out to Apex on Tuesday, they informed him all three were let go.

Bills Spokesman Scott Berchtold told News 4 in statement: "We are looking into the allegations. We have been unable to confirm that the assailants have been identified."

Thursday night, 94 people, including David Gerken, Jr., whose body was found in Smokes Creek behind the stadium, were ejected from the game and ten people were arrested outside the stadium. According to authorities, that's twice the number as usual.
