TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Tonawanda engine plant is powering-up again.
93 laid-off workers will be recalled soon to begin work on two new engine lines. GM is also re-opening Plant 4 on Kenmore Avenue, which closed in 2004. It will be home to a new on-site training center.
The UAW says GM expects to hire several hundred people at Powertrain over the next few years as its workload increases.
