BLASDELL, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Kelly for Kids Foundation is once again showing its commitment to helping disadvantaged and disabled children.
Buffalo Bills Hall of Famer Jim Kelly helped announce this year's grant recipients. Money raised during 2011 will be awarded to more than two dozen organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Hasek's Heroes, and Gateway Longview.
"It's awesome when you're able to give the amount that we do each and every year to these charities. This year more than $170,000 is going to western New York charities and Hunter's Hope. But when you hear the recipients talk about where some of the money is going and what they're all about then you understand why you're giving it to that charity," said Kelly.
The foundation has awarded close to $5 million to local charities over the last 25 years.
