BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The gap between candidates vying for the Democratic ticket in the 63rd State Senate District has widened.
According to State Senator Tim Kennedy's communications director, after a preliminary absentee vote count, the incumbent is leading challenger Betty Jean-Grant by 282 votes. That's up from his earlier lead of 91 votes.
It remains unclear when a winner will be declared in the primary race, and given the legal wrangling that has gone on so far, there may be more court dates before the Democratic ticket has solidified.
